Part - Time Herbarium Assistant - Biology Department - FY 2027

Job Summary Assist in day‑to‑day herbarium operations, including specimen mounting, databasing, and collection management. Responsibilities Mount and database incoming specimens, file them to expand the research collection. Retrieve specimens for Botany and Biology classes and visiting researchers. Sort specimens based on instructor needs for quizzes and in‑class examples. Update taxonomy to reflect modern sources, especially the system used in BIOL 331. Interact with and assist visiting researchers. Supervise students and volunteers in specimen preparation and labeling. Assist the collection manager with event planning, including meetings and volunteer events. Salary & Hours $16.00 per hour (exempt), 25.0% full‑time equivalent.
