Director of Recruitment & Admissions Indian River State College is seeking a strategic and people-centered enrollment leader to guide our recruitment and admissions operations. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen access to higher education, deepen community partnerships, and lead a high-performing team dedicated to student success. As Director of Recruitment & Admissions, you will shape the college's enrollment strategy from first inquiry to first day of class – ensuring every prospective student experiences a welcoming, seamless, and supportive journey. Job Summary Under general direction, this position is responsible for leading and managing the college's recruitment & admissions operations to support institutional enrollment goals and increase college participation within the community. The Director provides strategic direction and oversight for all recruitment & admissions initiatives, ensuring alignment with the college's mission and objectives. The role collaborates closely with internal departments, local K‑12 schools, community organizations, and industry partners to promote access and strengthen pathways to higher education. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of admissions functions for the college, including inquiry, application review, and student enrollment, ensuring a smooth, student-centered experience (40%). Lead and manage the admissions counseling functions, fostering a high-performing, goal-driven environment. Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluation to ensure team success in meeting enrollment goals (30%). Support and promote Dual Enrollment and Career Pathways programs, including collaboration on articulation agreements and industry certification initiatives with K‑12 partners (10%). Prepare, analyze, and present data-driven reports on enrollment trends, student outcomes, and recruitment effectiveness. Assist in managing the departmental budget and ensuring alignment with institutional priorities (10%). Oversee all recruitment staff & student engagement events, including new student orientation, recruitment fairs, and on/off-campus enrollment activities (5%). Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%). Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related area (Master's degree preferred) with eight (8) years prior admissions and recruitment leadership experience in a higher education setting, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. Proven experience in college recruitment & admissions, showing enrollment growth including CRM management (i.e., Element 451, Slate, CRM Recruit). Strong leadership, strategic planning, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external stakeholders. Familiarity with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing accelerated mechanisms, dual enrollment, and articulation agreements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with admissions data analysis and new student success strategies. Ability to interact effectively with external organizations and foster relationships that enhance student success. Physical Demands This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines such as a copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment. Continued employment remains on an "at-will" basis. Travel may be required monthly or as needed.
