Traveling Project Engineer

Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor specializing in large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, and advanced technology construction projects across the United States. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking a motivated Traveling Project Engineer to support field operations and project management teams on complex, high-profile builds.

Job Description

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations.
• Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Maintain project schedules and support milestone tracking.
• Assist with procurement and material delivery coordination.
• Prepare meeting agendas, project reports, and documentation.
• Support quality control and safety initiatives on-site.
• Monitor project budgets and assist with cost tracking.
• Participate in project planning, forecasting, and closeout activities.
• Ensure project documents are maintained and updated accurately.
• Help identify and resolve project issues before they impact schedule or budget.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 1-5+ years of construction experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or related role.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, mission critical, data center, or large-scale building projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and project documentation.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel extensively and work on projects throughout the country.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities.
• OSHA certification is a plus.
