Outreach & Prevention Manager

Job Classification: Full Time/Exempt Reports to: Director of Programs Daya empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence with culturally specific services and educates the community to end the cycle of abuse. Core Job Description: The Outreach & Prevention Manager provides day-to-day leadership and management of Daya's community outreach, education, training, and violence-prevention initiatives. The Manager develops and implements culturally responsive strategies that increase awareness of domestic and sexual violence, strengthen healthy relationships, expand knowledge of Daya's services, and engage South Asian and broader Greater Houston communities in preventing abuse.Working closely with the Director of Programs, Client Services leadership, Director of Development, and community partners, the Manager builds sustainable partnerships, coordinates community and agency-hosted events, develops educational materials and curricula, and ensures that outreach and prevention activities are trauma-informed, survivor-centered, evidence-informed, and aligned with Daya's mission, strategic priorities, and funder requirements. The Outreach & Prevention Manager manages volunteers supporting outreach activities; oversees program budgets, data, evaluation, and reporting; and serves as a key spokesperson and trainer for Daya. The Manager also ensures that community members who disclose abuse or request assistance during outreach activities are connected promptly and appropriately to Daya's helpline and client services. Duties include

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & PARTNERSHIPS

Develop and implement a comprehensive annual outreach strategy to increase awareness of Daya's mission and services and engage diverse South Asian and broader Greater Houston audiences Establish and maintain an annual calendar of community outreach, education, prevention, and agency-hosted events; coordinate staffing, logistics, materials, and follow-up Develop, oversee, and evaluate Daya-hosted community programs and events, including program theme, content, audience, speakers, accessibility, promotion, and evaluation measures Build and maintain strategic partnerships with religious institutions, cultural associations, schools and universities, healthcare providers, social-service organizations, businesses, and other community stakeholders Strengthen referral pathways and collaboration between Daya and community partners to increase access to culturally responsive services Represent Daya at community meetings, coalitions, task forces, conferences, and public events, and serve as a spokesperson when assigned Identify potential supporters, sponsors, and funding opportunities encountered through outreach activities and connect them with the Director of Development

EDUCATION & PREVENTION

Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive violence-prevention program addressing domestic violence, sexual violence, healthy relationships, consent, bystander intervention, and community accountability Identify innovative and culturally relevant approaches for reaching different segments of the South Asian and broader community, including youth, young adults, parents, elders, faith leaders, and community professionals Design and maintain culturally specific, trauma-informed, and evidence-informed curricula, presentations, toolkits, brochures, and other education and prevention materials Monitor emerging trends, research, and best practices in domestic violence, sexual violence, prevention, and culturally responsive community engagement, and incorporate relevant findings into programming Assess community training needs and coordinate or deliver workshops, presentations, panels, and professional trainings for community members, service providers, volunteers, staff, and Board members Establish protocols for responding to disclosures, safety concerns, and requests for services arising during outreach and training activities, including warm referrals to Daya's helpline and Client Services Team Collaborate with Client Services leadership to ensure that public education accurately reflects Daya's services, eligibility, confidentiality practices, and current referral processes

PROGRAM LEADERSHIP & PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT

Develop annual program goals, workplans, and performance measures in collaboration with the Director of Programs Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of outreach and prevention staff, interns, and volunteers, as applicable Coordinate outreach staffing and provide orientation, training, resources, and guidance to staff, interns, volunteers, and Board members representing Daya in the community Supervise, coach, and support outreach staff, interns, and volunteers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and well-being. Address staff, volunteer, partner, and community concerns in accordance with Daya policies and in consultation with the Director of Programs

VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT

Oversee the outreach volunteer program, including recruitment, screening coordination, orientation, training, placement, engagement, tracking, and recognition Develop meaningful volunteer opportunities that support outreach, education, donation drives, administrative support, professional services, and other mission-aligned activities Ensure volunteers understand and follow Daya's confidentiality, safety, boundaries, communications, and community-representation expectations Maintain accurate volunteer records and collaborate with relevant departments to support volunteer appreciation and retention

COMMUNICATIONS & VISIBILITY

Collaborate with the Director of Programs to promote outreach, training, and prevention programs through coordinated messaging, branding, marketing, and communications Develop accurate, culturally responsive content for outreach materials, presentations, and program-related communications, collaborating with the Development and Communications team on broader organizational communications. Ensure public-facing descriptions of Daya's programs and services are current, consistent, accessible, and aligned with agency policies Provide subject-matter input for organizational campaigns, media opportunities, and development materials related to Daya's mission, services, and prevention work Support timely updates to outreach and prevention content on Daya's website and communication platforms in coordination with Development staff

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION, DATA & REPORTING

Assist in developing and managing outreach and prevention budgets; review expenditures, monitor spending, and communicate projected needs or variances to the Director of Programs and Controller Maintain accurate records of outreach, education, prevention, partnership, and volunteer activities in Daya's designated systems Monitor outputs, outcomes, reach, participant feedback, referrals, and program impact through surveys, data collection, and other evaluation methods Prepare accurate and timely program reports, dashboards, grant information, and Board updates in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Director of Grants & Compliance Maintain complete program files, calendars, curricula, event records, partnership information, sign-in documentation, evaluations, and supporting materials Ensure outreach and prevention activities comply with applicable grant requirements, contracts, agency policies, confidentiality standards, and documentation expectations Participate in grant planning, program monitoring, audits, site visits, and corrective-action processes related to outreach and prevention programming

STRATEGIC & CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION

Contribute to agency planning processes, and translate organizational priorities into outreach and prevention goals, implementation plans, and measurable activities Collaborate with Client Services, Legal Advocacy, Counseling, Development, Grants & Compliance, Finance, and Administration to support coordinated agency initiatives Assess community needs, service gaps, emerging issues, and partnership opportunities and make recommendations to the Director of Programs Build and maintain a network of professional resources, trainers, speakers, and community partners that strengthens Daya's outreach and prevention capacity Attend and contribute to staff meetings, Leadership or program meetings as assigned, and other internal and external meetings Participate in appropriate professional development trainings, conferences, and forums

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, education, nonprofit management, gender studies, communications, or a related field required At least three years of progressively responsible experience in community outreach, prevention, training, public education, nonprofit programming, or a related area required Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising staff, volunteers, interns, or coordinating community-based initiatives required Demonstrated experience developing and delivering trainings, presentations, awareness campaigns, or educational materials for diverse audiences required Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual violence, healthy-relationship education, primary prevention, or other gender-based violence issues strongly preferred Bilingual proficiency in English and a South Asian language, with experience working in South Asian communities, strongly preferred Strong public-speaking, facilitation, writing, relationship-building, networking, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to engage faith, cultural, educational, healthcare, and community stakeholders respectfully and effectively Strong project-management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple events, deadlines, partnerships, and competing priorities Experience with program evaluation, data collection, databases, budgets, and grant-funded reporting preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with presentation, database, email-marketing, social-media, and virtual-training platforms Strong judgment, discretion, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Commitment to Daya's mission and to survivor-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and prevention-focused practices Ability to work flexible hours, including regular evenings and weekends, to support community events and trainings

COMPENSATION
