Operating Room NurseThe Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment. The nurse assumes leadership in anticipating and planning care for patients in the Operating Room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel. The RN provides patient care in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, and hospital policies. Responsibilities include ensuring supplies are available and timely, communicating with families, and updating physician preference cards. The role also involves scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases. The RN supervises personnel delivering patient care.
