Teacher (Bayview & Hayes Valley Location) Organization Overview Family & Child Empowerment Services (FACES) provides families who live and work in San Francisco with high-quality early childhood education and enrichment; job support, training, and placement; and comprehensive family support services and referrals. Position Summary Presently we are seeking a talented, positive Preschool Teacher for our Bayview and Hayes Valley location. The Preschool Teacher is a full time non-exempt position and reports directly to the site supervisor. Job Expectations: Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and rich learning environment per FACES standards Support children’s growth in key developmental areas (social-emotional, language and literacy, cognitive, and physical) Use age appropriate positive guidance techniques and model behavior for children Build positive teacher/child interactions and peer relationships in the classroom Maintain Community Care Licensing (CCL) standards; monitor teacher/child ratio Collaborate with the teaching team to implementlessons and activities appropriate to children’sdevelopmental expectations Follow all health and safety procedures, including closely supervising children and conducting health checks Complete weekly developmental observations and DRDP assessments for assigned children Create and maintain positive family relationships Communicate with parents/caregivers daily around their child’s day and milestones Support lead teacher to prepare for teacher conferences with parents/caregivers Follow all policies, procedures, and expectations set in Teacher Handbook Attend staff meetings and professional development/trainings Align classroom practices to FACES SF values Commitment Full-Time Commitment: Teachers are expected to work 8 hours per day within our operating hours of 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Flexible Site Assignment: Teachers must be available to work at any FACES location. Locations: Assignments may include our three San Francisco sites: Bayview, Hayes Valley, and Masonic. Qualifications Maintain or qualify for the California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or Higher Two (2) + years classroom experience in ECE setting (preferred) Demonstrate commitment to working with families from marginalized communities Use effective and compassionate communication Work cooperatively as part of an interdisciplinary team Meet required state, federal, local, and CDC standards (including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, CPR) Lift up to 50lbs Ability to meet required state, federal, local, and CDC standards (including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, CPR) A deep commitment to aligning all program practices to FACES SF values, especially around equity, inclusion, and belonging for all our stakeholders within the evaluation process Strong passion for and a a desire to humbly reflect and grow in pursuit of our mission A sense of humor – we believe joy and justice go hand in hand! Hourly rate starting at $28.85 – $36.50 based on units, education and/or years of experience inEarly Childhood Education Three weeks of vacation, personal and floating holidays, ten sick days, ten paid holidays (including one-week winter closure between Christmas and New Year’s) and a day off for your birthday!
