Pay Range $39.61-$52.11 (2026)* About the Department We have a Level III Emergency Department that serves an estimated 12,000 patients annually while maintaining one of the shortest wait times in the area. Registered nurses are certified in BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC. We collaborate with the Stroke Center at Upstate University Hospital via telemedicine to treat stroke patients promptly. We are a 2026 recipient of the PRC 4-Star Excellence in Healthcare Award for Overall Quality of Care. Requirements Current NYS license required One year of critical care or ED experience Required to obtain/maintain BLS. ACLS and PALS will be obtained/maintained within six (6) months of hire. Recommended to obtain/maintain Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications and/or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Encouraged to obtain/maintain Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) through the ENA (Emergency Nurses Association). Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting. Deliver care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with minimum supervision. Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs and factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicate with Emergency Department physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients, and family members. Pay may be modified in the future and is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
