Radiology - CT Tech Profession: Radiology Specialty: CT w/X-Ray Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x9.5 Hours per Shift: 9.5 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: NYSDOH License Required Certifications: ARRT, BLS, AHACAT Scan Tech Must-Have: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology. Description:Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust.Capable of working independently and unsupervised.Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of Cat Scan Imaging Exams.Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.Must produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered or directed according to established policies and procedures.Must prepare or enter written documentation as required by the department such as informed patient consent, patient chart documentation, and other related duties.Must observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.Check equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis.Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients.Demonstrate the ability to recognize and address patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.Complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards.Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for those who may require it.Observe bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations.Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed, or deleted at any time at the discretion of the Director of Radiology either verbally or in writing.Perform related duties in PACS.Responsible for knowing and adhering to established policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.Must complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards.Must be computer literate.Must select and operate equipment as directed.Must be aware and able to prevent sentinel events.Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment.Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.Must prepare or enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed patient consent, patient chart documentation, and other related duties.Perform portable and operating room examinations in a timely and professional manner, observing sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.Check equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis.Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients.Demonstrate the ability to recognize and address patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.Complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards.Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for those who may require it.Observe bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations.Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed, or deleted at any time at the discretion of the Director of Radiology, either verbally or in writing.Perform related duties in PACS.Responsible for knowing and adhering to established policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust.Capable of working independently and unsupervised.
