Informatics Analyst/Developer

Preclinical Data Transformation Developer, DevSci Informatics Analyst (Contractor)

South San Francisco, California (Preferred)

The Position:

We are seeking a talented and experienced informatics analyst to contribute to and help with the development of informatics systems in Development Sciences Informatics (DevSci Informatics). In this position the candidate will work extensively with the Informatics Systems team and the Data Engineering Team.

Development Sciences is a translational science organization that plays a critical role in the Research and Early Development development of products. DevSci Informatics is accountable for leading the strategy and execution around data lifecycle management, data standards, analytics, infrastructure, ongoing data operations, and informatics systems.

Duties include:

• Work with project team to develop and maintain workflows and infrastructure for digital pathology and high content systems
• Understanding of data transformation and data integration
• Advanced Python scripting
• Partner with business analysts to understand business requirements for data use cases
• Cloud-first strategy and implementation
• Work with AWS team to ensure all technical components work together seamlessly

Required skills:

• 3-5 years of development experience using scripting languages such as Python and/or R
• Experience with image-based data (unstructured) and structured data/metadata
• Experience with multi-modal data integration
• Knowledge with FAIR data concepts
• Excellent teamwork and attention to detail

Experience with the following is desired:

• Familiarity with preclinical study data, AWS, SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, and Spotfire. Experience with image management and image analysis platforms for digital pathology and HCS data.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree; or higher degree in a life sciences or computing field with at least two to three years of experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical R&D.
