Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets $90,000 – $110,000 per year | Seattle, WA | On-site | Permanent We are a large transportation and distribution company, industry leader. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage and control the company's fixed assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities Oversee the fixed assets function including tracking, recording, and reporting of additions and disposals. Perform regular audits to ensure accurate asset tracking and valuation. Review and validate capitalizable costs, ensuring proper classification and recording. Manage and maintain the construction‑in‑progress (CIP) account, ensuring timely capitalization. Prepare and record fixed assets schedules and perform amortization and reconciliation. Ensure compliance with ASC 350‑40 (Internal‑Use Software) and relevant accounting standards. Assist in preparing financial reports, providing accurate data to management. Collaborate with departments to reflect all fixed asset‑related transactions accurately. Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient and compliant asset management. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or other certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience focused on fixed assets; Engineering or Construction industry experience desired. Strong knowledge of ASC 350‑40 and other accounting standards. Proven experience with construction‑in‑progress, fixed‑asset amortization and reconciliation, validating capitalizable costs, and asset addition and disposal. Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
