Job Description
Fishkill Correctional Facility is seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide comprehensive nursing services within the facility's Regional Medical Unit. Nurses will support patient care across multiple specialized units, including the Emergency Clinic, Long Term Care Unit, Unit for the Cognitively Impaired, and Infirmary. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care, conducting assessments, administering medications, maintaining documentation, and supporting overall healthcare operations within a correctional healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to patients within assigned medical units, including Emergency Clinic, Long Term Care, Infirmary, and Cognitive Impairment Units.
• Conduct nursing assessments, monitor patient conditions, and document clinical findings accurately and timely.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Perform intake, out-draft, and other patient processing activities as required.
• Maintain detailed and compliant medical records and nursing documentation.
• Respond to patient healthcare needs and emergencies in a correctional healthcare setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, healthcare staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and correctional healthcare regulations.
• Support daily healthcare operations and perform additional nursing duties as assigned by the facility.

Work Schedule & Conditions
• Shifts Available: Day / Evening / Night
• Shift Duration: Minimum 8-hour shifts; may extend to 12 or 16 hours based on operational needs
• Overtime: Not required
• Travel: Not required
• Holidays: Required to work NYS holidays as scheduled
• Work Environment: Correctional healthcare facility

Qualifications & Requirements
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of New York
• Experience in correctional, emergency, long-term care, psychiatric, or inpatient nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional healthcare environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or high-pressure situations

Additional Information
• Max Bill Rate: $140/hour (No VMS Fee & NBO)
