Nurse Practitioner (Family or Adult-Gerontology) – Caldwell, OH

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) for a full-time opportunity providing primary care services within a correctional healthcare setting. This position offers a predictable weekday schedule, competitive pay, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Position Details

• Location: Caldwell, OH
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Flexible scheduling available (4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts)
• No evenings, weekends, or holidays
• Assignment Length: 3-6 months with potential for extension
• Pay: $65-$68/hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to an adult female patient population
• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
• Develop and manage treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Prescribe medications as appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
• DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care or hospital medicine

Duties

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions among incarcerated populations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications in accordance with DEA regulations.
• Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques.
• Manage acute pain and chronic disease conditions, including infectious diseases, geriatrics, behavioral health issues, and trauma cases.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, correctional staff, and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans.
• Provide telehealth consultations when appropriate to extend care services beyond the facility.
• Conduct health screenings, triage urgent cases, and facilitate referrals for specialized care or hospitalization.
• Participate in discharge planning, case management, and health education initiatives tailored to the correctional population.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
