Home Support Specialist

Overview As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), provide support to the community living arrangements of persons with developmental disabilities to acquire functional living skills needed to live as independently as possible within their homes and communities consistent with their stated needs, goals and choices. Responsibilities Support individuals in community living arrangements to develop functional living skills for independence in daily living within their homes and communities, aligned with their needs, goals, and choices. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED Age: Minimum of 21 years of age Experience: Six months successful work/volunteer experience with persons with developmental disabilities preferred Licenses & Certifications Licenses: Valid Illinois Driver's License. Certifications: Certificate of Proof of Insurance and maintenance of such at minimum amount of coverage required by law.
