Press Coordinator 1st Shift

ResponsibilityThe Stamping Press Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of stamping press activities. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met while coordinating personnel, materials, and equipment for efficient workflow via QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Moral. This position also supports (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Support the Corporate Governance Policy of Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive and the Objectives of:Meeting challenges of changed legal and business environment.Enhancing the trust of ATA among customers, associates, and society.Implementing activities to improve ATA business operations using a strategy of steady Compliance.Accountable toPress Asst Manager, Press ManagerQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or metal stamping operationsPrevious Leadership experience preferredStrong understanding of stamping press machinery, dies, and toolingFamiliarity with quality standards and inspection processesBasic knowledge of lean manufacturing principlesAbility to read blueprints and production documentationLeadershipProvide day-to-day directions and support to press associates and team leadersFoster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on the production floorCoach and mentor employees to improve performance, skills, and engagementLead shift meetings, communicate expectations, and reinforce company goalsAddress performance issues constructively and support corrective actionsEncourage employee involvement in problem-solving and continuous improvementServiceCoordinate and monitor stamping press operations to meet production schedules and output goalsEnsure proper setup, changeover, and operation of stamping presses and related equipmentCollaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to minimize downtime and defectsTrack production metrics, including efficiency, scrap rates, and machine performanceEnsure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standardsTroubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions as neededSupport continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean manufacturing, waste reduction)Support ISO-9001 / ISO-14001 requirementsTrain and guide press operators on best practices and standard operating proceduresMaintain accurate production records and reportsCommunicate shift updates, priorities, and issues to leadership and incoming teamsOperationsOversee and coordinate die-changeovers, ensuring quick and efficient setups (SMED principles)Verify correct die installation, press settings, and first-piece approvals prior to full production runsMonitor press tonnage, stroke rates, lubrication systems, and feeder operationsEnsure raw materials (coil stock, blanks) are available and staged for uninterrupted productionCommunicate with Die Maintenance to confirm die work to ensure production schedulesMonitor product quality for 100% compliance to part specifications and tolerancesConfirm production numbers daily for all press machinesCalculate production volume to prepare daily reports and monitor stamped parts inventoryDetermine die order for daily productionConfirm accuracy in die usage for productionCoordinate with material handlers and forklift operators to maintain proper material flowTrack and respond to machine downtime, escalate mechanical issues to maintenance as neededVerify proper scrap handling, segregation, and disposal processesAudit operator adherence to standardized work instructions and job safety analysesSupport troubleshooting of stamping defects such as cracks, wrinkles, or dimensional issuesEnsure proper use and storage of dies, tooling, and related equipmentAssist in implementing poka-yoke (error-proofing) systems to prevent defectsParticipate in daily production meetings and update press performance and constraintsAll other duties assigned by Press Asst Manager, Press ManagerHigh school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or metal stamping operationsPrevious Leadership experience preferredStrong understanding of stamping press machinery, dies, and toolingFamiliarity with quality standards and inspection processesBasic knowledge of lean manufacturing principlesAbility to read blueprints and production documentation #J-18808-Ljbffr Austin Tri-hawk Automotive Inc
