Machine Operator

Now Hiring Quality Machine Operator in Wellsville, PA

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Machine Operators to join our team on a 12-hour night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. During the first week, orientation will be held from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aluminum as it emerges from the press, and communicate any issues to the Press Operator, including tear out, die lines, and pick up.
• Set dies and bolsters in the die cradle, ensuring correct alignment.
• Assist with setting up water boxes, water pans, cooling fans, and other special requirements for various alloys.
• Set up each job using carbon blocks, canisters, clamps, etc.
• Transfer metal as required.
• Change gas bottles to full cylinders as needed and store empty bottles securely in the gas house.
• Regularly check all equipment such as saws, cranes, torches, track, transfer arms, and die ovens, reporting any problems to the supervisor or Lead Person immediately.
• Load dies in the die oven as needed.
• Tear apart used dies, remove aluminum from the back of die, and store bolsters appropriately.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways clear of materials and tools.
• Follow company rules and safety practices diligently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Capable of using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to understand and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Problem-solving skills to handle standardized situations with concrete variables.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Teamwork skills and excellent communication abilities.
• Competency in reading blueprints and utilizing measuring equipment.
• Ability to operate production equipment.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Regular attendance is mandatory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Work Environment

This is a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts, including day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The environment is dirty and dusty, requiring adherence to a dress code of jeans or work pants, plain shirts, steel-toed shoes with metatarsals, and a flame-retardant jumpsuit. Temp workers will follow this dress code until permanent employment when uniforms are provided. Shift differential pay is applicable, and employees should be prepared for a physically demanding setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wellsville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
