SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:

Provides outpatient Behavioral Treatment Services to individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders. Responsible for assessing clients, developing and implementing individualized action plans, and providing individual, group, family, and crisis treatment services as appropriate. Also responsible for referrals to appropriate services and coordination with other service providers. Performs related duties as required.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates agency core values in daily activities.

• Demonstrates effective use of technology and appropriate use of support resources.

• Follows agency policies and procedures.

• Completes all required annual training updates.

• Handles intake calls and performs initial assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Develops and reviews individualized client action plans, objectives, and treatment methods based on assessment findings.

• Conducts individual, group, and family counseling sessions.

• Coordinates services with internal staff and external agencies.

• Implements established treatment plans and provides assigned clinical interventions.

• Contacts collateral supports and family members to encourage participation in the client's treatment and, when appropriate, their own treatment.

• Serves as a resource and consultant to other service providers regarding client referrals and collaborates to ensure appropriate service linkage.

• Prepares reports, maintains clinical records, participates in training, and provides required statistical data.

• Ensures advocacy, service linkage, care coordination, and related activities are completed as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Must possess one of the following:

• Credentialing as a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) with five (5) years of experience.

• Licensure as a Social Worker with two (2) years of experience.

• Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor with two (2) years of experience.

• Limited Permit or Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor with two (2) years of experience.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree preferred, consistent with required licensure.

• Educational qualifications must meet applicable regulatory requirements.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience must meet applicable regulatory requirements.

• Preferred: One (1) year of experience in human services working with individuals diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and/or Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
