Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a contract assignment at a healthcare facility located in Lewiston, Maine. The position involves providing specialized obstetric and neonatal nursing care in a maternity unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Lewiston, ME
• Shift: 6:45 PM 7:15 AM (night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week), with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); 3-5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; experience in Labor, Delivery, Postpartum care, and Neonatal procedures; proficiency in managing obstetric triage, use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring, initiating and maintaining peripheral IVs, administering antihypertensives and insulin drips, assisting with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, performing newborn assessments including APGAR scoring, collecting cord samples, and managing epidural anesthesia and postpartum procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level 1 Nursery, Mother/Baby unit, circulating for Cesarean sections.
• Equipment & EMR: Familiarity with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), EPIC EMR, Pwerchart, and Omnicell Medication System.
• Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
• Additional Information: No first-time travelers; no pre-approved time-off requests per contract; unit census ranges from 3 to 24 patients; patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 1:6.
