Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: CVICU\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Aug 31, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 5\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Medical ICU night shift position requiring 3+ years of cardiac/medical ICU experience and CVI post-op recovery skills.Details\n \n Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting\n 22-bed unit with 1:2 patient ratios\n Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM\n Every other weekend required\n No call requirements\n May float to other stepdown units depending on staffing needs\n Utilizes Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, and Arctic Sun equipment\n EPIC EMR used\n Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full availability that week\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (or compact)\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA only, plus NIHSS\n TNCC certification preferred\n Minimum 3 years of Cardiac and/or Medical ICU experience required\n Experience recovering open heart patients directly from the OR (CVI experience) required\n Inpatient-only Cardiac Medical ICU experience required\n Experience with medical ICU patients with cardiac emphasis (arrhythmias, STEMI, post arrest) preferred\n No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months\n Valid U.S. Social Security Number required\n Additional Information\n \n Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation\n Cares for patients with sepsis, respiratory conditions, post cardiac arrest, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal/liver failure, pancreatitis, overdose, suicidal ideation, and CIWA\n Coordinates patient care with other departments and evaluates care provided by other caregivers\n Level 2 Trauma Center and Level 1 STEMI Center with Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center designation\n Black scrubs required; hats, non-facility jackets/sweatshirts, and AirPods not permitted\n Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1 with no declinations accepted\n RTO of up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment\n Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment\n Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though local contracts are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week assignments before requiring a 1-year break or transfer outside the radius\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-746199.
