Program Description:

Centuria Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer with a strong Information Technology and Cybersecurity focus to join our team in Norman, OK, supporting the National Weather Service (NWS) Radar Operations Center (ROC). This position supports both traditional systems engineering functions and cybersecurity initiatives, including information assurance, continuous monitoring, system hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance activities supporting federal information systems.

The Systems Engineering team acts as the primary technical authority for the radar network’s computer systems, telecommunications, and security infrastructure. In this role, you will support the Engineering Division by navigating complex feasibility studies, implementing NOAA-directed secure benchmark configurations, and analyzing radar performance data. From reviewing complex design modifications to ensuring compliance with federal Information System policies, this program offers the opportunity to directly impact the reliability of the nation’s weather infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide system design, engineering analysis, and technical support for complex computer, network, and cybersecurity systems supporting the NEXRAD radar network.
• Support cybersecurity and information assurance activities for federal information systems.
• Assist Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) with security compliance, documentation, and continuous monitoring activities.
• Perform technical analysis of hardware, software, and network changes to evaluate operational and security impacts.
• Support vulnerability identification, remediation tracking, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of secure baseline system configurations in accordance with NOAA and federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Conduct feasibility, cost/benefit, and alternatives analyses for system modifications and product improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical documentation including design documents, configuration management artifacts, security documentation, implementation plans, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, telecommunications, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure system reliability, maintainability, and compliance.
• Participate in system integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Support security assessments, audits, and accreditation activities.
• Analyze system performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend technical solutions to improve system effectiveness and security posture.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, federal security requirements, and industry best practices.

Job Requirements: 

• Experience supporting complex computer systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, or information technology operations.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is highly desired.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security controls, vulnerability management, system hardening, and risk mitigation practices.
• Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 security controls, or comparable federal cybersecurity requirements is preferred.
• Experience supporting Information Assurance (IA), cybersecurity compliance, ISSO, ISSM, or continuous monitoring activities is desired.
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or other Linux-based operating systems.
• Experience administering or supporting computer systems, network devices, or embedded Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, routing, Network Address Translation (NAT), firewalls, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and develop effective solutions.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, security assessment tools, and remediation processes is preferred.
• Experience supporting federal government information systems is preferred.
• Experience with radar systems, telecommunications systems, or other complex mission-critical technical systems is beneficial but not required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is desired. Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered.
