Position Summary

IQ Fiber is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist to own the accuracy and integrity of inventory data across internal warehouses and contractor sites. Reporting to the Manager, Warehouse Operations, this role is central to the organization’s ability to plan, allocate, and account for materials with confidence — directly influencing how the company manages its material supply chain and informs financial reporting. 

This role partners closely with Procurement, Warehouse Operations, and Finance to deliver reliable inventory data and analysis, and offers meaningful visibility into operations and project cost control. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically minded, and comfortable working across departments and with external contractors. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Lead monthly inventory audits and cycle counts across internal and contractor warehouse locations, overseeing facilitation and documentation of all auditing activities. 

• Conduct monthly reviews of project costs and materials, comparing actuals versus budget and liaising with contractors and internal partners to identify and resolve discrepancies. 

• Develop and maintain accurate inventory reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support business planning, purchasing decisions, and project cost control. 

• Strengthen inventory controls and reporting processes, improving accuracy in material usage tracking and waste allocation. 

• Document contractor yard inventory through receiving documents and invoice processing, and enter data accurately into NetSuite; enter contractor build reporting into NetSuite and maintain inventory reporting of vehicle stock levels. 

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoices with receiving documentation and resolve vendor delivery disputes. 

• Schedule material transfers between sites and coordinate logistics with contractors and internal teams. 

• Analyze inventory trends and forecast future inventory needs to support proactive procurement and allocation planning. 

• Travel to contractor sites as needed to perform on-site inventory audits and support cross-functional meetings. 

• Partner with the Procurement Manager and Warehouse Operations Manager on functional responsibility over inventory strategy and execution. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent experience. 

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, with a focus on materials management and auditing processes. 

• Strong understanding of inventory control procedures, including experience conducting inventory audits and reviews. 

• Experience conducting cost and budget analysis with proven ability to manage high volumes of business transactions and data. 

• Proficiency in inventory management systems; NetSuite and RF Smart experience preferred. 

• Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

• Ability to liaise and collaborate effectively with contractors and internal partners to resolve discrepancies with meticulous attention to detail. 

• Ability to travel as needed for inventory audits and cross-functional meetings. 

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment with clear written and verbal communication skills. 

What Success Looks Like 

• Inventory records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready across all internal and contractor locations, with consistent tracking and documentation standards applied. 

• Inventory discrepancy rates decrease quarter-over-quarter through proactive cycle counts and audits, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions that prevent repeat issues. 

• Procurement, Operations, and Finance receive clear, actionable inventory and materials analysis that improves decision-making on purchasing, allocation, and project cost control. 

• Contractors and internal teams view inventory as a shared accountability, supported by trusted working relationships and a clear point of contact for inventory questions and issue resolution. 

• Reporting, forecasting, and inventory processes improve continuously through implemented process changes that strengthen accuracy, visibility, and overall operational efficiency.
