Quality Engineer

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Quality/Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the final test department by executing, analyzing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical test processes for medium and high-voltage power cables. This role ensures products meet applicable standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements through rigorous testing, data analysis, and process control.RESPONSIBILITIES:-Supervise Final Test operators and provide hands-on technical support.-Perform electrical testing on medium- and high-voltage cables, including PD, AC Withstand, insulation resistance, and continuity testing.-Perform mechanical and physical testing, including tensile, elongation, and dimensional checks.-Analyze test results, identify problems or trends, and complete certified test reports.-Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain high-voltage testing equipment.-Support quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and customer inspections.-Work with engineering and production teams to improve testing processes, accuracy, efficiency, and overall product quality.REQUIREMENTS:-1–3 years of experience in cable manufacturing, high-voltage testing, or a related field.-Hands-on experience with MV/HV cable testing, preferably PD and AC Withstand.-Understanding of electrical testing principles and cable insulation systems such as XLPE and EPR.-Experience with high-voltage test equipment and safety procedures.-Ability to read and understand technical specifications and industry standards.-Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.PREFERRED:-AS/BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.-Experience with Partial Discharge (PD) and AC Withstand testing.-Familiarity with UL 1072, ANSI/ICEA, and AEIC CS8 standards.-Experience with ISO 9001 or quality systems.-Experience troubleshooting and maintaining high-voltage test equipment.-Experience with data analysis, SPC, or statistical tools.-Experience supervising or leading test/production operators.You should be proficient in:Electrical TroubleshootingHi-Pot (High Potential) / High Voltage TestingElectrical / Electronic SystemsHigh Voltage SystemsISO 9001 Certification Experience
