Senior Mechanical Engineer – Commercial, Infrastructure, Municipal Location: Long Island & New York, NY Employment Type: Full Time About the Firm An established MEP engineering consultancy headquartered in New York City, providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design across commercial, industrial, municipal, infrastructure, and public sector work. Position Summary Our client has an urgent requirement for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team covering Long Island and New York City. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's Degree an advantage PE license preferred At least 10 years of relevant industry experience Demonstrated ability to run several projects concurrently while consistently hitting deadlines Working knowledge of NYS, NYC, and International Building Codes Exposure to healthcare codes and standards viewed favorably Solid understanding of building systems and construction practices, with the ability to work across varied facility types Strong communication skills, able to translate technical detail for non technical stakeholders High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy LEED accreditation an advantage Certified Energy Manager credential an advantage Commissioning background an advantage Responsibilities This position covers a broad project mix, spanning critical environment healthcare work through to energy efficiency initiatives and major public infrastructure schemes. The successful candidate will be comfortable juggling multiple client relationships and project demands at once. Additional duties include: Leading design teams through HVAC system development for commercial and institutional buildings. This spans healthcare environments such as operating rooms, CSS, pharmacies, inpatient hospitals, and outpatient facilities, as well as public works projects for agencies including DASNY, CUNY, NYS OGS, and NYCHA Directing site surveys and data collection efforts to inform system design and retrofit strategy Working closely with architects, clients, and other engineering trades to ensure HVAC systems integrate cleanly into overall building design Applying tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation software to produce accurate design output Running energy modeling and performance analysis to optimize systems and maintain code compliance Mentoring junior engineering staff and design team members Keeping current with emerging trends and best practice in HVAC design Compensation and Benefits Salary aligned with experience level Full benefits package Defined progression path toward Associate or Senior Associate Interested candidates can apply directly or reach out to me at View email address on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr Plan B Climatech
