The Direct Store Delivery Class A Relief Driver makes an impact by:

• Arriving at specified daily scheduled starting time.
• Driving vehicle in a safe and courteous manner per established Fleet Safety guidelines.
• Loading and unloading product as required and responsible for the proper placing of product delivered to customer. Rotating delivered products when required.
• Completing an inventory of designated products for required customers.
• Completing and returning all necessary paperwork including signed proof of deliveries, credit memos, and route summaries.
• Communicating all customer concerns to Team Leader/Supervisor.
• Maintaining a professional relationship with all customers.
• Reviewing customer orders and verifying invoice and delivered products for accuracy.
• Collecting payment for deliveries when required, and submitting all payments received to the Route Settlement Office upon completion of route.
• Ensuring cargo area is at proper temperature level.
• Being available for varied scheduled work hours as assigned.
• Wearing only authorized uniform during working hours.
• Maintaining good housekeeping principles within truck cab and cargo area.
• Reporting all mechanical problems to Garage department. Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and forwarding copies to assigned location. Fueling vehicle as required.
• Maintaining Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to log daily activity and adhere to all applicable hours of service requirements according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Performing all duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations.
• Performing all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
• Supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
• Demonstrating the ability to engage work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.

Physical demands:

The physical requirements for a Department of Transportation (DOT) job, particularly for commercial vehicle drivers, are designed to ensure that drivers are fit to safely operate their vehicles. Here are some key physical requirements:

• General Health: Drivers must be in good overall health, free from medical conditions that could impair their ability to drive safely.
• Vision: Drivers must have at least 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, and a field of vision of at least 70 degrees in the horizontal meridian in each eye. They must also be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals.
• Hearing: Drivers must be able to perceive a forced whisper at a distance of at least 5 feet, with or without a hearing aid.
• Blood Pressure and Pulse: These must be within normal ranges to ensure cardiovascular health.
• Physical Abilities: Drivers must be able to walk, bend, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel daily.
• Drug and Alcohol Testing: Drivers must pass a pre-employment drug screen and are subject to random testing throughout their employment.

These requirements are part of the DOT physical exam, which is a mandatory health check for commercial drivers to ensure they can handle the physical demands of their job.

The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required). The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in a manufacturing environment for 8+ hours. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks. Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks. The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment. Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus. Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
