Job Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in general nursing
• At least 2 years of experience in a clinical specialty area
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience with intermediate care, step-down, or ICU patients preferred
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital float pool environment

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to individualize care
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs
• Support care for IMCU-appropriate diagnoses, including withdrawal syndromes, hypertensive conditions, and selected DKA cases
• Monitor patients closely for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Direct nursing support staff in accordance with nursing standards and unit policies
• Maintain a patient ratio that supports safe, high-quality care in the intermediate care setting
