Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions to identify specific needs and challenges.
• Develop and implement personalized rehabilitation treatment plans that focus on enhancing mobility, strength, balance, flexibility, and pain reduction.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans accordingly based on their evolving conditions.
• Educate patients and their families on injury prevention strategies, home exercises, and self-management practices as part of their treatment journey.
• Participate in clinical teaching opportunities, mentoring students, interns, and new staff members in best practices and evidence-based approaches.
• Engage in professional development by contributing to clinical research initiatives and developing additional skills within your area of expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, including post-operative orthopedic clients, sports rehabilitation patients, and individuals with chronic pain conditions. This role allows you to tailor your therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of each patient, ensuring they receive the best care possible as they work towards recovery.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid and active Physical Therapy license in the state of New York.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is required.
• Demonstrated clinical assessment and treatment skills, particularly in orthopedic rehabilitation methods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling productive interactions with patients and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in clinical teaching or mentoring is advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient patient documentation is beneficial.
