Facilities Technician

Experienced Full Time Facilities Technician

Beaver County Transit is looking for an Experienced Full Time Facilities Technician. This position is responsible for maintaining BCTA's assets in a state of good repair. This includes facilities located in Rochester, Center Twp and Ambridge. Duties to include:

• Maintains a preventative maintenance and repair schedule for all BCTA facility assets utilizing established BCTA software
• Monitors and inspects buildings and premises for fire, security and safety issues, and monitors plans for compliance with codes and state regulations
• Inspects and tests the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose, document and resolve equipment malfunctions
• Plans and lays out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
• Operates field and facility maintenance equipment, tools and vehicles
• Assembles, installs and/or repairs wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required along with advanced certifications and/or specialized diploma; 3 years experience in building maintenance operations and management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work; must be up to date on all aspects of mechanical, electrical and electronic components, plumbing, HVAC, and pneumatic equipment; interpersonal and communications skills; physical capability to perform all aspects. Safe and appropriate use of the tools of the trade.
