Location: Syracuse, NY Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday or Sunday through Wednesday: 3:00 PM - 2:00 AM Job Summary: The Yard Specialist is a Certified Motor Vehicle Operator who operates primarily out of the truck yard at the G&C Foods facility. The Yard Specialist is responsible for the fleet of trucks and trailers, including placement, inspection, and general maintenance of the equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Performs daily yard equipment inventory at the start of each shift Pulls all returns and pallet jacks off trailers left in the yard and plugs them in Bring backhaul paperwork from the Guard shack to Transportation Fuels Trailers Move trailers to designated docks for loading and unloading Properly pre-trip Yard Tractors and Trailers to make sure they are DOT compliant Report Service issues to dispatch and Service Empty trash by the fuel pumps and by vacuum in the garage as needed Assist Drivers as neededTake equipment for repairs as needed Maintain a safe and clean work environment Collaborate with snow removal company to ensure safe operations of the yard during snowstorms/winter months Check the yard for debris/trash that could cause damage to equipment Performs wash moves as specified by the Yard Management System Performs other functions as needed or directed by Management Additional duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred CDL-A preferred NYS Driver's License Why Build Your Career at G&C Foods?
