Role Description The Mechanical Inspector role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bellingham, MA. The Mechanical Inspector will perform dimensional and visual inspection of machined and fabricated components, sub-assemblies, and sheet metal parts using a variety of inspection tools and equipment. Daily responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, verifying product compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal quality standards, documenting inspection results, and supporting non-conformance investigations. The role also involves collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues, maintain calibration and inspection records, and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes. The Mechanical Inspector is expected to follow established safety and quality procedures while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Qualifications Strong mechanical inspection and general inspection skills, including use of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Experience in quality control and quality assurance practices within a manufacturing environment, preferably under ISO 9001:2015. Background or coursework in mechanical engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience with mechanical components. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions accurately. Attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and proficiency with basic computer applications for recording inspection data. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and quality personnel. Previous experience in precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, or electro-mechanical assemblies is highly beneficial.
