The Chicago Center for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery (doing business as Primus Orthopedics) is a comprehensive orthopedic and physical therapy practice serving patients across two locations. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care through a team-based approach.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support to our Billing Department. This position is essential in maintaining smooth billing operations and ensuring accurate recordkeeping, though it does not include billing claims directly.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Billing Department with clerical and administrative tasks.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain patient billing files and insurance medical records.
• Track and log billing-related correspondence.
• Manage incoming mail, faxes, and electronic communications related to billing.
• Support the billing team with data entry and reconciliation of account information.
• Provide administrative support for audits, chart reviews, and compliance requests.
• Manage outgoing mail to patients and insurances.
• Basic tracking and reporting as it relates to current patient accounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate's degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare, medical billing, or clerical role (orthopedic practice experience a plus).
• Familiarity with billing documentation and HIPAA compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with eClinicalWorks (preferred).
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
