Senior Communications Specialist

The Murray Road Agency is seeking a strategic communicator with experience in public relations, communication and/or marketing. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day client and media relationships, providing strategic communications counsel, and driving successful public relations initiatives. Knowledge of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, shooting and boating is a plus. This new hire should be able to write with intent in regards to messaging, branding and audience and have a demonstrated ability to do so in a variety of subject areas/markets. This position will be located in Charleston, South Carolina (In-Office). Responsibilities Writing, editing and managing content. Monitoring metrics and reporting to clients. Leading client meetings. Developing and leading campaign strategies. Identifying new opportunities for clients. Communicating with media regularly to secure coverage opportunities. Managing media inquiries. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, sales or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience. Shows a high level of attention to detail and strategic thinking. Skilled writer and editor. Experience in managing multiple accounts and projects. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with media, clients and industry partners. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Crisis communications experience. Excellent presentation skills. Experience with analytics and reporting.
