Requirements Active RN License Degree from an accredited nursing program BLS certification At least eighteen months of recent experience in an acute‑care psychiatric setting Any additional requirements as determined by the client facility Weekly pay with direct deposit Full coverage of all credentialing fees Private housing or a housing allowance Group health insurance for the nurse and family Company‑paid life and disability insurance 401(k) matching Unlimited referral bonuses up to $1,000 Duties / Responsibilities Psychiatric nurses (RN) provide care for patients with mental health issues. They are experts in assessing, diagnosing and treating people with psychiatric disorders. Mental health nurses work as part of a care team to deliver comprehensive medical care for the patient. Assess the mental‑health status of patients with behavioral challenges. Collaborate with medical providers and mental‑health staff in the design and delivery of patient care. Administer and monitor the effectiveness and side‑effects of psychotropic medications. Assist patients and families, as appropriate, in interpreting and managing maladaptive behaviors and in planning healthy lifestyle changes. Use balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner.
