Adjunct Faculty - MFTO Clinical Supervisor

Prerequisites ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. Responsibilities Provide weekly group supervision for the Internship courses (MFTO 591‑598) and Internship Continuation (MFTO 617, 698, 692, 693) when required. Conduct weekly synchronous supervision sessions. Provide rich and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical. Facilitate a class size of approximately 8 students. Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries regarding course material or academic matters. Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner. Provide supervision about case management skills, general clinical issues, developing clinical skills, and internship site dynamics. Support students as they prepare for the Capstone Theory of Change Paper and Clinical Presentation. Enter final course grades by deadline. Alert faculty and/or program director to any student issues, including performance or policy violations such as plagiarism. Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in the ACU Handbook and College of Health and Human Services. Participate with program faculty in planning, development, and implementation of the Internship portion of the curriculum. Provide feedback to the program director for program and/or course improvement. Participate in Faculty Program Clinical Supervisor meetings at least three times a year. Attend/complete program and CHHS faculty training and provide credentialing/records updates as required. Stay informed of trends and information pertaining to the program and field through practice, professional reading, active research, and/or continuing education. Professional Development Requirements Attention to detail and follow-through. Time management skills. Maintain confidentiality. Computer proficiency. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities. Provide quality instruction and support to students while maintaining academic and university standards at the master’s level. Ability to collaborate or work independently as required. Current and unencumbered licensure as a marriage and family therapist. Current AAMFT-Approved Supervisor status. Knowledge of COAMFTE accreditation standards and processes. Training modules: Microsoft Word, Excel; Google Calendar, Mail, Sheets, and Docs; Canvas and Bridge (online learning platforms). Qualifications Professional Licensed marriage and family therapist with a master’s degree in MFT. Graduates of COAMFTE programs preferred. Current and unencumbered licensure as a marriage and family therapist. Designated as a current AAMFT-Approved Supervisor for at least 5 years. Evidence of training in providing virtual supervision. Instructional experience and teamwork experience, including online environments preferred. Proficient in APA style. Personal Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to align roles and responsibilities with the university’s mission and goals. Collaborative nature with consensus-building ability. Outstanding organizational and project management skills with consistent deadline adherence. Self‑motivated problem solver who seeks input and initiates solutions appropriately. Capacity to quickly learn new software applications. Willingness to receive additional training and/or faculty mentoring. Good judgment in interactions with students, faculty, and staff. Access to reliable internet connection. Physical Demands Majority of work performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; use computer for extended periods stationary. Manage conversations in person, online, and by telephone. Work well under pressure and manage stress effectively. Communicate clearly: speak, read, write, and hear.
