Substitute Bus Monitor

Transportation Department

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team
Demonstrates integrity, honesty, patience, humor, compassion, courtesy, responsibility
Experience in a job/volunteer activity that involved working with children in an educational setting.
Physically able to secure wheelchair students for a safe ride

Performance Responsibilities:

Assist with loading and unloading of special needs students and monitor those students while being transported to and from school
Understands and monitors behavioral needs and anticipates situation when support may be needed
Participates in training to develop the skills to work with special education students
Assist driver with emergency management situations
Communicate effectively with students, driver, and building supervisors regarding students' safe ride to school

Hourly Rate: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement
