Litigation Attorney

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join our team to manage civil litigation matters from intake through resolution. The attorney will represent clients in courtroom hearings, develop case strategy, draft pleadings and motions, oversee discovery, and work collaboratively with colleagues and experts to achieve client goals. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate with solid litigation experience and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while providing practical, client-focused legal advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters, including case intake, strategy development, and client communications.
  • Draft and file complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents in state and federal courts.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive and procedural issues.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, arbitration, and mediations; handle courtroom advocacy and oral argument.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and experts; coordinate and prepare expert witnesses.
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on risk, costs, and strategic options.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and outside experts to develop legal theories, trial plans, and evidence presentation.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, associates, and paralegals; review work product for accuracy and quality.
  • Manage case budgets, billing, and administrative tasks related to litigation matters.
  • Engage in business development and client relationship-building activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the relevant state(s).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred; experience as lead counsel on contested matters is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; ability to draft clear and persuasive pleadings and briefs.
  • Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues in practical terms.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively.
  • Comfortable using litigation management tools and technology for discovery and case organization.
  • Required skills: Litigation, Attorney.
  • Nice-to-have experience: Employment Law, trial experience, Commercial Litigation, products liability.
