Overview Job Title: Physician – Pulmonology & Critical Care Division, Lung Transplant Physician (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Department: The Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a dynamic academic Pulmonary/Critical Care physician at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor ranking with expertise in Lung Transplantation. The Division is comprised of a comprehensive team of physicians and staff focused on delivering high-quality patient care, contributing as academic leaders through scholarship and discovery, and educating medical students and postgraduate trainees. The position strongly emphasizes critical care medicine and outpatient pulmonary medicine and affords opportunities in sleep medicine. The position will be located on The Ohio State University\'s main campus. Division Context The Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep, led by Division Director Dr. Jeffrey Horowitz, offers a broad array of clinical opportunities including general pulmonary and critical care medicine, transplant pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and interventional pulmonary medicine. It supports clinical, translational, and basic research and substantial educational opportunities. The Division has grown in clinical operations and research, with a strong national reputation. The Division provides state-of-the-art facilities and serves a diverse patient population. It emphasizes research across basic science, translational, and clinical areas and offers educational programs for future doctors. Responsibilities Include clinical care in pulmonary and critical care medicine with a focus on lung transplantation, opportunities in sleep medicine, and participation in education and scholarship. The role emphasizes contributions to clinical operations, teaching medical students and postgraduate trainees, and engagement in research activities in line with the Division\'s priorities. Qualifications Fellowship trained in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine with advanced training or experience in Lung Transplantation Board Certified/Eligible in Adult Pulmonary Disease Board Certified/Eligible in Critical Care Medicine An active research program in basic, translational, clinical, or health services research is desirable Qualify for academic appointment at The Ohio State University – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience. Faculty Definitions Faculty Defined – Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) include titles such as assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. Tenure-Track Faculty – Titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Primary focus is on research, service, and teaching; clinical care may be involved for MD/DO holders. Research Faculty – Titles such as research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. Focus is on research; tenure is not conferred.
