Location: Grapeland, Texas | Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Design Engineer Supervisor to lead a team of 8-12 Design Professionals developing safe and efficient steel joist and decking solutions.


This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical expertise, team development, engineering performance, and continuous improvement .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8-12 Design Professionals.
  
  
• Provide technical leadership in steel joist and decking design.
  
  
• Drive engineering quality, productivity, and process improvement.
  
  
• Establish consistent engineering practices and monitor team performance.
  
  
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  
  
• Structural engineering or steel design experience.
  
  
• Proven leadership and team development experience.
  
  
• Strong engineering, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  
  
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  
  

Preferred:

• Steel joist, decking, structural steel, or metal building experience.
  
  
• Engineering supervisory/management experience.
  
  
• Familiarity with AISC, SJI, SDI, ASCE , and applicable building codes.
  
  
• Manufacturing and engineering software experience.
  
  

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000-$140,000 Base Salary
  
  
• ROA Bonus: Up to 33%
  
  
• Company Profit Sharing: Up to 15%
  
  
• 3 Weeks PTO
