Electronic TechnicianBaytown, Texas, United States$ 20.00 - 25.00 (US Dollar)Position Summary:Provides in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of drives and programmable logic controllers on facility equipment. Maintains current programs and documents for equipment; interfaces with engineering support from outside agencies that have commissioned equipment.Key Responsibilities/Duties:Perform quality analysis of field returns for components, subassemblies, and equipmentApply advance technical knowledge of electronic and electrical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to OEM standardsDiagnose and repair electrical problems with cranes and facilitiesRepair spare drives for cranesRespond to wharf/yard crane issues impacting productionIdentify and correct problems with motor drives, and controllers, Troubleshooting and repair other electrical systems such as fiber optics, lighting systems, catholic protection, and medium voltage switchgearLead maintenance efforts and provide technical guidance to other technicians / craftsWork required scheduled overtime hours and be available for unscheduled overtime when operating requirements or other business needs of Plant cannot be fulfilled during regular working hoursWork a temporary, alternative schedule or shift as requested by supervisorAct in accordance with core values (respect, excellence, accountability, diligence, and you)Perform other duties as requiredEducation/Experience:Associates degree in Electronics or related major from a public or accredited private academic institution required2+ years in a container handling environment and/or 5+ years in an electronic maintenance experience requiredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:Knowledge of functionality and crane operation theoryKnowledge of electronicsKnowledge of AC/DC drivesKnowledge of electrical troubleshootingKnowledge of electrical controlsVerbal and written communication skillsAbility to pay attention to detailAbility to work at heightsAbility to schedules and plan work projectsAbility to maintain records and inventory controlAbility to work safely and timely manner in a highly productive atmosphereAbility to interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings and design specificationsAbility to operate forklift, if neededA current, valid Texas driver's license is requiredKey Competencies Required:Effective CommunicationInitiating ActionQuality OrientationPragmatic Decision MakingSafetyTechnical/Professional Knowledge and Skills
