Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Director or designee, the non-credit lecturer is accountable for the effective performance in these essential duties:
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching courses within the assigned discipline area in accordance with institutional standards
- Evaluating and assessing student learning outcomes
- Providing student support, mentoring, and academic advising
- Developing curriculum and periodically reviewing and updating instructional materials
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
- Current State of CT Certification in the field you are applying to
- Two (2) or more years of related work experience in the field you are applying to.
- Ability to present curriculum in a classroom or lab environment.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Additional qualifications may be requested, as relevant to the academic department.
- Experience teaching in workforce development, adult education, continuing education, or non-credit training programs, particularly in short-term certificate or credential-aligned programs.
- Experience designing or delivering customized training programs (onsite, online, or hybrid).
- Knowledge of the current industry trends and workforce needs
- Two (2) or more years of practical experience in the field for which you are applying with an understanding of industry credentialing or licensure requirements.
- Commensurate with specific course, location & demand.
