Contract | Night Shift (7p–7a) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed PICU with an average census of 2, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and monitor ventilated patients; support respiratory therapies including CPAP, BiPAP, Ramcan, and HFNC in collaboration with RT staff available 24/7
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips using Spacelabs tele monitors
• Administer and titrate drips including insulin, sedative agents, heparin, vasopressors (vasopressin, norepinephrine, epinephrine), and electrolyte replacements using Medfusion pumps
• Care for pediatric patients presenting with respiratory failure, dehydration, seizures, diabetic ketoacidosis, overdoses, poisoning, and suicide attempts
• Float as needed to general pediatrics, burn unit (non-burn pediatric care only), and NICU; travelers are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Medfusion pump operation
• Familiarity with Spacelabs telemetry monitoring and independent strip interpretation
• Prior experience floating across pediatric subspecialty units (general peds, NICU, or burn)
