Staff/Sr/Prin Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Responsibilities The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is licensed in all scopes of practice as defined by the State of California Radiologic Health Branch, and performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to assist in diagnosis and/or treatment in both the inpatient and outpatient environment. The technologist must be able to work safely in an acute care setting and be able to interact accordingly with anesthesia and/or other patient care departments that visit the Nuclear Medicine environment. The technologist collects, prepares, and analyzes biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation. Responsibilities also include performing radiation safety and quality control procedures on all Nuclear Medicine equipment as required by the department, and participating in the orientation and training of assigned staff, students, residents, and faculty. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program. Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (TM) with CTNM certification (NMTCB or ARRT-N). California State License – CA Department of Public Health, Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine. Post‑primary CT certification (ARRT‑CT or NMTCB‑CT) required for Fusion positions. BLS (CPR) certification. Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate to all locations and shifts, and provide coverage for weekends and holidays. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for Senior level, with minimum 1 year experience in CT; and demonstration of competency to instruct two or more specialty procedures within six months of hire/promotion. Demonstrated teaching and mentorship abilities—ability to provide guidance, advice, and direction to less experienced technologists. For Principal level: Minimum 7 years Nuclear Medicine experience + 3 years CT experience, with demonstrated leadership/coordination experience. Ability to perform all routine clinical PET/CT exams and at least: 2 of the 5 specialty PET/CT exams independently (PET/CT with Multiphase CT, Pediatric, Cardiac, Neuro, Research) for Senior level. 3 of the 5 specialty PET/CT exams independently (PET/CT with Multiphase CT, Pediatric, Cardiac, Neuro, Research) for Principal level. Preferred Qualifications Recent work experience in an acute care setting. Post‑primary certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT) or (NMTCB). ACLS certification.
