About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Maryland Start Date: October 2026 Location: Baltimore, Maryland Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, five 8-hour shifts per week. Every other weekend required. On-call shifts based on unit needs. No block scheduling available. Highlights: - General Operating Room position supporting approximately 40 cases per day across diverse surgical specialties- 1:1 patient ratio providing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations- Advanced technology environment featuring da Vinci robotic systems, minimally invasive techniques, and evidence-based care- Teaching hospital culture emphasizing surgical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and clinical excellence- Comprehensive surgical specialties including Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Orthopedics, Robotics, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures- Charting system: Cerner/Surginet; scrubs provided Requirements: - Active Maryland or Compact RN license required upon submission- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required- Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred- BLS certification required- 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course required by week 27- 8 hours annual trauma CEUs required- ACLS, NIH, and PALS certifications preferred- Proficiency required in multiple surgical procedures including thoracic, ENT, endoscopic, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and trauma cases- Experience with emergency OR response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia protocols, and latex allergy precautions required- Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris equipment required- Must be willing to float within scope as needed throughout the healthcare system Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a high-volume Operating Room with a reputation for excellent clinical care, bedside and laboratory research, and advanced surgical techniques.
