Packaging & Crating Technician

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Packaging & Crating Technician to join our client's team. This role combines hands-on assembly and crating with onsite customer service. The ideal candidate will travel to customer locations to professionally package and crate products for shipment while ensuring quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.

Job Duties:

• Travel to customer locations to package and crate products according to customer specifications.
• Set up and operate power saws to slot, cut, and trim wooden materials used in custom crating.
• Build custom wooden crates and packaging solutions for a variety of products.
• Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and customer specifications.
• Change saw blades and perform basic equipment adjustments as needed.
• Use tape measures and other measuring tools to accurately mark and cut materials.
• Inspect wooden stock for defects, deformation, and overall quality before use.
• Ensure all finished crates meet quality and safety standards.
• Document daily production and completed work accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers while representing the company in the field.
• Troubleshoot packaging challenges and develop effective solutions onsite.
• Load, unload, and transport tools and materials safely.
• Follow all company safety procedures and DOT driving regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in packaging, crating, woodworking, carpentry, assembly, or a related field preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• The ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, lift and reach for 8+ hours.
• The ability to accurately read a measuring tape and mark measurements.
• High attention to detail.
