AI Data Engineer

Senior AI Data Engineer (Agentic Systems) Location: USA / Europe / Israel – with a 5 hour overlap with EST hours Compensation: $130K - $150K We are hiring on behalf of a client that builds the technology powering safer, more accessible financial markets. Their risk management systems, oracles, and AI models secure over $200B in assets across the largest decentralized protocols, processing more than $5T in transaction volume. They recently launched a pioneering Financial Intelligence Platform that turns complex market data into actionable insights. Role Senior AI Data Engineer tasked with designing and building the agentic systems for this platform. The role sits at the intersection of large language models, financial data, and production infrastructure, creating intelligent agents that reason, plan, and execute complex financial workflows. Responsibilities Design and build single and multi‑agent systems incorporating planning, memory, and tool use Build and operate Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers with secure schemas and permissions Develop sophisticated agentic workflows using LangGraph or equivalent frameworks Integrate LLMs: manage prompts, structured outputs, and tool calling via SDKs Define and run LLM evaluation pipelines for quality, accuracy, latency, cost, and regressions Build observability infrastructure, including logging, tracing, retries, and state management Optimize performance and cost‑efficiency from prototype to production Mentor junior engineers and establish agentic best practices Requirements 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years building production‑level AI/ML systems Hands‑on experience with agentic architectures, tool calling, and LangGraph (or equivalent) Practical experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers Demonstrated experience designing and operating LLM evaluation pipelines Strong Python proficiency and API design skills Familiarity with RAG pipelines, vector databases, and embedding‑based retrieval Preferred Qualifications Experience with financial data, DeFi/Crypto, or quantitative analysis Background in distributed systems or high‑throughput data pipelines Active contributions to open‑source AI/ML projects Benefits Competitive compensation and equity package aligned with growth and performance Opportunity to be a foundational member of a rapidly expanding, global technology company with significant room for career advancement High‑stakes impact working on systems that secure hundreds of billions of dollars and shape future financial risk management Talent‑dense team of world‑class data scientists and engineers in a high‑performance culture Commitment to Equality and Accessibility At MLabs, we are committed to offering equal opportunities to all candidates.
