Job Description
Northport VAMC is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurologist to join a dynamic, academically affiliated Neurology Service dedicated to delivering high quality, evidence based care to Veterans. Our facility is a Primary Stroke Center and an active participant in the VA National Tele/Stroke, Tele/Epilepsy, and Tele/EEG programs , offering a rich clinical environment with strong academic engagement.
Role Highlights
Primarily outpatient focused role with participation in the inpatient/ER Neurology Consult Service
Opportunities for resident precepting , face to face clinics, and Tele/Neurology
Academic appointment available through our affiliate, SUNY Stony Brook
Fellowship trained neurologists may perform EMG/NCV , EEG interpretation, and subspecialty clinics
Minimal on-site call ; majority handled off site with resident support
Clinical Environment
Collaborative practice with specialists in Movement Disorders, Epilepsy, ALS, SCI, MS, and Neurosurgery
Five Community Based Outpatient Clinics serving Nassau & Suffolk Counties
On site EEG (Ceribell) and Sleep Medicine services
140 bed Community Living Center, subacute rehab, and an active ED currently undergoing renovation
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurologist
Strong commitment to compassionate, comprehensive Veteran care
Enjoys teaching and interdisciplinary teamwork
Qualifications
MD or DO
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology
Eligible for an unrestricted U.S. medical license
U.S. citizenship (non-citizens may be considered per VA policy)
Compensation & Benefits
Recruitment incentive available for well qualified candidates
