Pizza Cook Picco Location: Picco (Saint Paul) Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Reports To: Kitchen Manager / Head Chef About the Role Picco is looking for a skilled and passionate Pizza Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience making pizza from scratch from dough prep to the final bake and takes pride in consistent quality and speed during service. Responsibilities Prepare and stretch pizza dough to proper thickness and shape Portion and apply sauces, cheeses, and toppings according to recipe specifications Operate pizza ovens and monitor bake times/temperatures Maintain consistent quality, presentation, and portion control on every pizza Prep ingredients ahead of service (sauces, dough batches, toppings, garnishes) Keep the pizza station clean, organized, and stocked throughout shifts Follow all food safety and sanitation standards (proper storage, labeling, temperature logs) Communicate clearly with kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to manage ticket times Assist with inventory counts and ordering of pizza‑related supplies as needed Qualifications Prior experience as a pizza cook, pizzaiolo, or line cook in a fast‑paced kitchen Knowledge of dough handling and fermentation basics Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods Strong understanding of food safety practices (food handler's certification a plus) Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills Preferred Experience with specialty pizza ovens Familiarity with Neapolitan, New York, or other regional pizza styles Prior experience in a high‑volume restaurant environment Benefits & Perks Eligible employees enjoy a variety of benefits including: Medical insurance Retirement savings plan One complimentary meal per shift worked 25% employee discount for you and up to three guests (food only) Flexible scheduling Supportive, team‑oriented work environment Eligibility requirements apply to certain benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
