School Bus OperatorType of position: School days, 45 hours per day. Hours may vary based on program needs. Reports to: Transportation Supervisor. Supervision: None. Salary: $20.75/hr.Qualifications: Required • High School diploma or equivalent • Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License with the following endorsements: Air Brakes Passenger School Bus • Paid training is provided for successful applicants • No more than three (3) moving violations within three (3) years.Position SummaryThe School Bus Operator is responsible for the safe transportation of students for Saint Cloud School District 742.Essential DutiesDemonstrate the ability to safely operate each type of school bus owned and operated by District 742Safely operate school buses in accordance with state laws and District proceduresUnderstand and appropriately respond to student behavior, including supporting students with disabilitiesEncourage orderly conduct and address misconduct appropriatelySafely load and unload studentsUnderstand and follow laws, rules of the road, and District transportation safety policiesAttend meetings with transportation staff, school administrators, and the public as neededComplete student incident reports when applicableMaintain fuel logs, mileage sheets, pre-trip inspection forms, and other required documentationReview route sheets for accuracy and provide recommendations to transportation leadershipSweep and clean buses daily as neededAttend required safety and informational meetingsMaintain current first aid certification provided by the DistrictDemonstrate professionalism consistent with District expectationsOther duties as assignedPhysical factors: Frequent walking, standing, bending, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing.Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week*.
