- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Caseload: Approximately 10–14 speech therapy patients daily across rehab and acute care
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Setting Highlights: 18-bed rehab unit with 45-minute treatment sessions
Speech-Language Pathologist Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) experience required
- Active Kansas SLP license in hand
- BLS certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience treating swallowing, language, speech, and cognitive deficits
- Ability to work with stroke, Parkinson’s, and other neurological conditions
- Strong evaluation and treatment skills in inpatient rehab and acute care settings
- Ability to complete bedside swallow evaluations and ongoing patient education
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled speech therapy services for inpatient rehab and acute care patients
- Evaluate and treat communication, swallowing, language, and cognitive impairments
- Develop individualized treatment plans to support patient progress and discharge readiness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in Epic
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home carryover strategies
- Manage a dynamic caseload while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care
