RN Med Surg

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to Med/Surg and EICU patients by assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care. This role requires adapting to changing patient conditions and unit needs while ensuring individualized, safe, and effective nursing care. The nurse collaborates with healthcare team members, administers medications including IV therapy, and educates patients and families to support optimal health outcomes. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required or obtained within one month of hire.
• ACLS certification required or obtained within six months of hire.
• Proficiency in medication administration including IV therapy.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Strong clinical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• PALS certification encouraged.
• Experience or comfort in Med/Surg and EICU patient care settings.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to respond to life-threatening emergencies following established protocols.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and repetitive movements.
• Work environment includes fast-paced hospital settings requiring adaptability.

Scheduling:

• Full-time weekend day shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
