Mechanical Maintenance

Job Summary

Perform routine and semi-skilled HVAC maintenance work while assisting skilled employees with routine maintenance and repairs. Assists with routine and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment to help keep systems operating properly.

Responsibilities

• Assists skilled HVAC employees with routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems
• Performs basic tasks such as changing filters, cleaning equipment, lubricating components, and maintaining work areas
• Assists with the installation, removal, and replacement of basic HVAC components and equipment under supervision
• Uses basic hand and power tools to support HVAC maintenance and repair activities
• Reports equipment issues, unusual conditions, and needed repairs to higher- level HVAC employees or supervisors

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience

• Two (2) or more years related work experience

Proposed Salary

$17.13 - $20.96 per hour

This is an exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

KNOWLEDGE

• Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
• Basic working knowledge of various repair and maintenance HVAC tasks

SKILLS

• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
• Must be detail-oriented
