Occupational Therapy Assistant

Overview The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides therapeutic interventions under supervision, assisting in monitoring patient progress and documenting services. They implement prescribed treatment plans, perform delegated procedures, and participate in patient and family education. The role involves reporting observations, modifying treatments as needed, and ensuring timely documentation. Communication with team members is essential to deliver coordinated, quality care. The assistant participates in ongoing professional development, interdisciplinary meetings, and special projects, while ensuring supervision by an Occupational Therapist during initial and subsequent visits. Qualifications Current certification and registration as an occupational therapy assistant from New York State Associate’s Degree from a NYS-approved program Minimum two years of experience preferred Basic PC skills preferred Valid driver’s license may be required The role requires bilingual skills and may involve operational needs.
